ONE-WEEK DISCOVERY DAY CAMP
For students ages 8 - 10

2008 Session: Sunday, August 10 - Saturday, August 16

Discovery Day Camp serves as an introduction to the performing arts. Children spend their mornings taking classes in theatre, dance, music, creative writing and fine arts. Discovery students have a pre-set curriculum and do not register for classes. Each afternoon, they participate in traditional camp activities such as hiking and local field trips. On Saturday, at the end of each session, campers present a final showcase to which all parents are invited.

The Discovery Camps are led by Rusty de Lucia. Ms. de Lucia was originally introduced to theatre by Charlotte Perry and attended P-M first as a student (1955-57) and later as a faculty member (1958-65, 1989 to present). Rusty holds an MA in Theatre and English from Western State College of Gunnison, Co. and a BA degree from the State University of New York, Oneonta. Rusty currently teaches both Theatre and English at the Steamboat Springs Middle School. Her recent directing credits include Twelve Angry Jurors and Cinderella. This is Rusty's 28th summer of teaching theatre at camp.
