Students
taking art classes will learn a variety of techniques in the areas
of drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media. Students display
their artwork on Showcase Day and at the High School & College
performances.
The Visual Art Department is led by Virginia
Barrett, who holds a Masters Degree in Teaching Art from the
Rhode Island School
of Design. Ms. Barrett has directed her own arts school, Arts
for Kids, in San Francisco, California. She is both a visual artist
and a poet, often combining the two fields to create illustrated
limited edition books. Ms. Barrett is returning for her tenth summer
at Perry-Mansfield.
