Scholarships are awarded in the areas of dance, theater and
musical theater. Scholarships are merit based, however, financial
need is taken into consideration. Those interested in applying
for a scholarship can participate in a live audition or submit
a video to be viewed by the appropriate departmental faculty
and directors. Live auditions will be held in New York City
on February 3, 2008. Call the camp office for details. The
deadline for videotaped auditions is February 1st. (See the
video criteria below.) All students who audition will be notified
by mail by March 15th.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and
Publishers (ASCAP) provides scholarships each year to students
who excel in the areas of musical theater, composition and
voice. This will be the seventh consecutive year that ASCAP
has provided scholarships through The ASCAP Foundation John
Denver Music Scholarships supported by Music Alive! and The
Cherry Lane Foundation. We thank ASCAP, Cherry Lane Music,
and Rosalie Meyer for their generous support.
VIDEO CRITERIA
Scholarships:
Students wishing to audition by video must complete a Scholarship
Application Form and an enrollment
Application form. The forms must be sent with the video
(VHS or DVD format only) along with a nonrefundable processing
fee of $50. All materials must be received in the Perry-Mansfield
office by February 1st. Absolutely no videos will be accepted
after this date. All videos must show the full body for the
purpose of evaluating stage presence. Applicants cannot
use production videos. Please write your name and phone number
on the video, and specify the area for which you are auditioning.
Please use the criteria listed below for your video.
Dance:  |

Two minutes of a floor combination
commonly done in one of your dance classes and a recently
taped solo no more than two minutes in length.  |
| Theater: |
Two short contrasting monologues,
contemporary or classical, two minutes each.  |
| Musical Theater: |
Two contrasting songs from the
musical theater literature. For students interested in
both the theater and musical theater programs, send a
video consisting of one song and one monologue. |
