TWO-WEEK
JUNIOR CAMP
For students entering 5th grade - 7th grade
2008 SESSION: Friday, June 27 - Saturday, July 12
Junior Camp is a two-week program designed for the younger
student who wants to explore the performing arts. The program offers
a well-rounded curriculum that includes required classes in dance,
theater and musical theater, with electives in art, creative writing
and equestrian. Class placements are held on the first full day
of camp, after which each student is assigned to an appropriate-level
dance, theater and musical theater class. Students can then choose
two other classes from the list of electives or, as approved based
on class placement, from the other dance, theater and musical theater
offerings. Junior students have five class periods per day, and
residential students are required to take a minimum of four classes.
Juniors
participate in special evening and weekend activities that include
a combination of performing arts sessions and camp activities, such
as hikes, swimming, talent shows, dances or Camp Olympics. Students
also have the option of signing up for fee-based activities, including
whitewater rafting, private or semi-private riding lessons, and
instrumental music lessons. On the last day of camp, students present
a final showcase to which all parents are invited.
