Carolyn Defrin is a founding member of The House Theatre of Chicago where she has performed in and collaborated on over 20 award-winning productions. She also directed their community outreach and education programs for 12 years. As an actor and teaching artist she has worked with Steppenwolf, The Goodman, Chicago Children’s Theatre, Lookingglass and Redmoon Theatres. Since moving to London in 2012 she has directed and produced theatre and film productions in both traditional and site-specific venues. She is currently pursuing a PhD, researching the role of the arts for vulnerable communities in West London.
